This 9-day journey takes you through Accra, the Eastern Region, and Cape Coast for a powerful blend of culture, celebration, nature, and heritage. The trip features multiple nights at the world-famous AfroFuture Festival 2026, celebrating African music, fashion, art, and global creativity.
You’ll explore Accra’s key historical landmarks, enjoy hands-on cultural experiences like local drumming and Ghanaian cooking, and travel to the Eastern Region to visit Aburi Botanical Gardens and Asemena Waterfalls. The New Year is welcomed with reflection and renewal at Labadi Beach, followed by a traditional naming ceremony at Assin Manso.
The journey continues with an ancestral connection experience at Cape Coast and Elmina Castles, including the historic Door of No Return, and a visit to the Kakum Rainforest Canopy Walkway. The trip includes accommodation, daily breakfast, private transportation, airport transfers, and expert local guides—offering a meaningful and unforgettable Ghana experience.

Cape Coast Castle became one of the most important stops of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. Elmina
Castle is the home of the infamous "Door of No Return".
Arrive in Accra, Ghana. You will be met at the airport by Root Tours representatives who will assist you with your transfer from the airport to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome drink at the hotel and participate in an orientation session.

Today, we will explore the best of Accra. Our city tour will take us to famous landmarks such as the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Museum, Independence Square, and the W.E.B. Du Bois Center. We will learn the history of this beautiful country and its relationship with famous Pan- Africanists. Visit Accra Art Center for local Drumming Lessons.
After our tour, we'll head back to the hotel, and on the night we attended the Afrofuture Festival.

ANCESTRAL CONNECTION /CAPE COAST CASTLE
After breakfast, we set out on a meaningful heritage journey to the historic Assin Manso Slave River, where enslaved Africans took their last bath before the Middle Passage. Guests will then take part in a traditional naming ceremony, symbolizing reconnection and cultural identity, followed by a guided tour of the iconic Cape Coast Castle.

After breakfast, we travel to Elmina to experience the vibrant Elmina Fishing Market, offering a glimpse into the daily life of local fishermen. We then proceed to Kakum National Park for the famous canopy walkway experience. After the tour, we drive back to Accra.

After breakfast, we explore the scenic Shai Hills Resource Reserve, home to wildlife and beautiful landscapes. The day continues with a peaceful boat-riding experience at Afrikiko River Front Resort.
